INTRODUCTION
• Agriculture encompasses crop and livestock production, aquaculture,
fisheries and forestry – providing most food and fabrics

• SDG Agenda encompasses three aspects – economic growth, social

inclusion and environmental protection

• Group D members are a diverse mix from five developing countries

sharing the indicators of macro-economic characteristics with different
governance and economic management systems.

• Group D members present a feasibility study in introducing Smart Agro

PROBLEM STATEMENTS

• Growth in the industrial sector has slackened the

agricultural development
• Combating Climate Change is one of the greatest challenges
for all nations
• Need for administrative effectiveness and implementation
of policies
HYPOTHETICAL STATEMENT

FEASIBILITY STUDY OF IMBIBING SMART
AGROTECHNOLOGY FROM TAIWAN
• Population growth in some of the developing nations

• Dissemination of information to the farmers as illiteracy prevails – Training in technological knowhow and renewable

source of energy are the challenges in developing countries – Academia - Industria connect must be emphasized,

outreach and extension activities to be encouraged.

• Funding sources for high impact technology for the farmers – Start up firms, Innovation and incubation centers under

R&D, implementation of mapping techniques, usage of GIS and Remote sensing for farmers are necessary

• Social Entrepreneurship, Back- end Offices extending services to farmers must be encouraged

• Cross-national collaborations to be initiated through Summits and Conferences for policy makers, academic

institutions and other stakeholders in the agricultural sectors for analyzing the strategies to implement Smart Agro

technology into the Agricultural System.

• Finding out means to fulfill the three Es – Economy, Efficiency and Effectiveness through IoT/ICT
CONCLUSION
Smart Agro- technology is a structural road map for the sustainability of farmers and the economical growth of the
country while combating the climate change.

“Smart Agro technology is possible and could definitely be a structural road map, provided the developing
nations invest the needful resources and capital to the maximum for the agricultural development.

Smart Agro-technology can be imbibed if there are effective policies for the farmers, efficient
administrative structures working for a common goal. for the sustainability of the agriculture

However, to combat climate change is really going to be a challenge for the developing nations with more
investment contribution on financial and human capital”.
