A. Cognitive Linguistics
• Cognitive linguistics is regarded as an interdisciplinary branch of
linguistics with a combination of knowledge and investigation adopting
from cognitive psychology, neuropsychology and linguistics.
• Cognitive Linguistics is a method to deal with the study of natural
language that began in the late 70s and early 80s in the work of George
Lakoff, Ron Langacker, and Len Talmy. It is emphasizing on language
as an instrument for arranging, handling, and passing on information
(Geeraerts and Cuyckens, 2007)
• We conclude that the cognitive linguistics is the recent study that
discussing about the relationship between mental or thought with
language, which is possible with the language a person can reflect the
mental structures.

B. Language and Cognition

Conclusion
In conclusion, cognitive linguistics and ecolinguistics are connected because they both aim to
comprehend how language and cognition interact. Ecolinguistics, on the other hand,
concentrates especially on the interaction between language and the environment, as opposed
to cognitive linguistics, which is more concerned with the general study of language and
cognition.
