Introduction

According to European Fire Safety Alliance (2022) For the most part, fires are
caused by human actions. People being aware of their responsibilities regarding fire
safety is therefore of the utmost importance. Whether people are able to leave the
building or their home safely in time in the event of a fire also depends on their actions.
If people act fire safe, the chances of a fire breaking out are reduced. And when a fire
does break out, people knowing how to act decreases the chance of people getting
hurt or dying. Therefore, the role of fire safety education in the living environment is
very important. Ultimately, it is the people who make the difference. Technical fire
protection is of course very important, but someone who uses equipment and products
safely, closes fire doors, and reacts to smoke detectors in the event of a fire.
Therefore, the social aspects of fire prevention should not be underestimated.
Statement of the Problem

1. What are the precautionary measures practiced by the household to prevent fire
such as: 1.1. Proper Installation of Energy Wiring
1.2. Practice Plan on Safety
1.3. Periodic Inspection of Wiring Installation
1.3. Seminar attended in Fire Prevention

2. What is the impact of cyberbullying to 1st year criminology students in terms of:
2.1. Identification of fire hazard
2.2. Household Energy Load
2.3. Proper Storage of Identified Fire Hazard
Hypothesis

Ho: The study assumes that the household

members that has knowledge about awareness on
fire safety and prevention is better so in case fire
occur people will not panic, they know what to do
and it lessen the damages as they can.
Research Gap
The above literatures explained thoroughly the causes of fire as well as fire
safety education. More so, certain literatures had explained further the various
categories of vulnerability when it comes to fire risks. Also, the related study
mentioned above had identified vulnerable household individuals when it comes
to fire such as those classified as women, boys and girls, and people with
disabilities. But, despite the writings and descriptions, there are still limited
researches directed that will explicate the consciousness of domestic individuals
when it comes to fire safety and prevention. Although at some point,
international studies had been conducted closely related to fire safety and
prevention, but still local studies focusing on households as respondents are
very scarce. These types of research endeavors will help the government to
design and awareness program that will start from every individuals in every
homes in the local areas.

The researchers will be using Adoptive Survey

Questionnaire from the previous related research then
tabulation, analyze and measure the data collected. This
study is conducted to measure the level of awareness in
the selected household members on fire safety and
prevention at Zone 6, Bula, General Santos City. The
gathering of data for this study will last for ten school
days.

Barangay Bula, General Santos City.
