Jeremiah 1:4-10 NIV

4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed

you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you
apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” 6 “Ah,
Sovereign Lord,” I said, I do not know how to speak; I am only a
child.” 7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘ I am only a
child. ‘ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever
I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you
and rescue you,” declares the Lord. 9 Then the Lord reached out
his hands and touched my mouth and said to me, ”Now, I have
put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over
nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and
overthrow, to build and to plant.

God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called;

2 Timothy 1:9
New International Version

“(God) who has saved us and called us to a holy

life--not because of anything we have done but
because of his own purpose and grace.
This grace was given us in Christ Jesus
before the beginning of time,”
God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called;

John 20:21-22
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you!
As the Father sent me,
I am sending you.”And with that
He breathed on them and said,
“Receive the Holy Spirit.”
Recognize the Calling;

• Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is one of the

conditions that are essentials in order to hear God’s
calling and understand it.
• We are aware of the fact that we are not in the
ministry, because of our gifts, talents, or skills, but
by God’s grace towards each one of us.
• When we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit, the gifts
begin to be effective in our lives.
Recognize the Calling;
Ephesians 4:11-12
New International Version

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some

to be prophets, some to be evangelist, and
some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare
God’s people for works of service, so that
the body of Christ may be built up”

These five ministries are the extension of the character of Christ

in us.
Acknowledging God’s Call involves the following;
1. CONVICTION
- It is essentials to have absolute certainty that God
has called us into the ministry, coupled with the
correct motivation, in order to go into ministry. Why?
It would be impossible to develop a supernatural
work with a natural attitudes. Besides , we know
that whom God calls He will also equip in
all things.
CONVICTION

1 Thessalonians 1:4-5
New International Version

“For we know, brothers loved by God, that He

has chosen you, because our gospel came to
you not simply with words, but also with power,
with the Holy Spirit and with deep
conviction. You know how we lived among
you for your sake.
Acknowledging God’s Call involves the following;

2. COMMITMENT
- The fact is God chose you from among
the millions of humans dwelling here on
earth. You were selected by him to
continue His work. God could have
chosen someone else, but he preferred to
choose you.
COMMITMENT

Isaiah 6:8
New International Version

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord

saying, “Whom shall I send? And who
will go for us?” And I said, “Here Am
I. Send me!”.
Acknowledging God’s Call involves the following;

3. BROKENNESS
- Apostle Paul was a person who has
experienced brokenness, and he did not
consider his life precious. He wanted to finish
his assignment successfully.
- Brokenness is the most powerful protection
mechanism a believer can have while facing
the adversities of life.
BROKENNESS
John 12:24
New International Version“

“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of

wheat falls to the ground and dies, it
remain only a single seed. But if it
dies, it produces many seeds.”
Acknowledging God’s Call involves the following;

4. ANOINTING
- This is when you experience the presence of
God in your life continuously. It is reflected
in the way you speak, in what you teach, in what
you pray, in what you understand and in the
people you lead.
ANNOINTING
1 John 2:27
New International Version“

As for you, The anointing you received

from Him remains in you, and you do not
need anyone to teach you. But as His
anointing teaches you about all things and
as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--
just as it has taugh you, remain in Him.
Acknowledging God’s Call involves the following;

5. SUBMISSION
- Those who are in spiritual authority must
understand that our authority over others is
not an imposition but a posture of leading
others as we present ourselves as an examples
in everything.
- And the disciples will accept and at the same
time exert the authority in a correct way,
without hurting people.
SUBMISSION
Romans 13:1-2
New International Version“

1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing

authorities, for there is no authority except that which
God has established. The authorities that exist have
been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who
rebels against the authority is rebelling
against what God has instituted, and those who
do so will bring judgment on themselves.”
conclusion
The Lord has assigned a mission to you. “Be faithful
to God’s calling, He has His eyes fixed on you.
God assigns us specific tasks in His work. This calling
is in line with God’s purpose for every believer. The
accomplishment of the call depends on the fulfillment
established in the Scripture, such as the ones stated in
Exodus 18:21- but select capable men from all the
people--men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate
dishonest gain--and appoint them as officials over
thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.
application

in your life.
3. Intensify your daily prayer level, until you feel the fire of
the Spirit burning in you.
