Importance of Body Language
KINESICS
Kinesics is the interpretation of body
motion communication such as facial expressions
and gestures, non-verbal behavior related to
movement of any part of the body or the body as a
whole.
PROXEMICS
Proxemics is the study of space and how we use it,
how it makes us feel more or less comfortable, and
how we arrange objects and ourselves in relation to
space.
The term was coined by the anthropologist Edward
Hall. Hall was interested in understanding how
humans use space in communication
HAPTICS
The word derives from the Greek haptein meaning "to
fasten"

Haptics communication is a branch of


nonverbal communication that refers to the ways in
which people and animals communicate and interact
via the sense of touch.
HAPTICS
Touch or haptics, from the ancient Greek word
haptikos is extremely important for communication; it
is vital for survival.
Haptics (pronounced HAP-tiks) is the science of
applying touch (tactile) sensation and control to
interaction with computer applications.
CHRONEMICS
Chronemics is the study of the role of time in
communication.
It is one of several subcategories of the study of
nonverbal communication.

Chronemics is the study of the use of time in
nonverbal communication.
The way that an individual would perceive and value
time, structure our time and react to time is a powerful
communication tool, and helps set the stage for
the communication process.
VOCALICS
Vocalics: The study of paralanguage, which includes
the vocal qualities that go along with verbal messages,
such as pitch, volume, rate, vocal quality, and verbal
fillers.
It is the study of paralanguage, which includes the
vocal qualities that go along with verbal messages,
such as pitch, volume, rate, vocal quality.
VOCALICS
Vocalics is how people express themselves through
voice.
The voice has different vocal properties. These
properties are: rate, or speed at which the person
speaks, pitch, inflection and variety in the voice,
volume, being loud or soft, and articulation and
pronunciation.
