BOOSTING SALES

DURING PROMOTION

-SHOP N SAVE
A strategy proposal
INTRODUCTION
 Shop 'n Save is a large supermarket and medicine store chain
that is losing market share to competition. They have a high-
low pricing approach, with regular prices that are normally
slightly higher than those of conventional low-price shop.
However, high-low shops periodically reduce their prices
dramatically.
 During the time when a product's price is reduced, it is also
promoted through print and in-store advertising. Shop 'n Save
anticipates a big increase in sales during promotional periods.
However, comparisons to industry averages show that Shop 'n
Save does not see the same level of sales growth as its
competitors during promotions.
SALES BOOST STRATEGY
Leveraging promotional periods
Advertising during promotions enhances product visibility,
drives customer awareness, and encourages sales, vital for
Shop 'n Save's success
Enhanced promotion tactics
-Consider increasing the depth and duration of discounts
-Implement targeted promotions for popular products
In-store advertising

-Utilize eye-catching signage and displays
Customer engagement
-Loyalty programs or rewards during promotions
-Encourage customer feedback and suggestions
INDUSTRIAL ANALYSIS
 Shifting the pricing strategy to an everyday low-pricing
model is not an option. The client has made the decision
to focus on being the industry-leading high-low grocer.
They feel they can compete with everyday low-price
retailers once this goal is achieved
 There are one or two major high-low competitors in each
of the local regions in which the client operates. Our
client’s everyday prices, promotional cycle timing, and
per cent discounts are virtually identical to their
competitors in each market
 Shop n save’s everyday prices, promotional cycle timing,
and discounts are similar to competitors.
MEASURING SUCCESS
 There is increase in sales during promotional periods
compared to previous periods or competitors.
 Through surveys and feedbacks , we conclude that
customers are fully satisfied with shop n save.
 Through our reports, there are 25000 new customers.

 Increased sales during promotions do not significantly

reduce profit margin.
 Promoted products are sold quickly which optimizes
inventory management.
