Use “MUST” if you are

the ball is there.

“Might/MAY/COULD” if
THE BALL MIGHT/MAY/COULD BE … you are NOT SURE that
the ball is there.

Use “CAN’T” if you are


THE BALL CAN’T BE … SURE that it’s not posible
that the ball is there.
