INTRODUCTION
In the succeeding activities, you will have a chance to explore different
situations to learn the various functions of communication and their relevance
to your daily interactions with people. By observing how people
communicate, you will find out what type of approach works best in a
communicative scenario.
Theoreticians such as Roman
Jakobson, Michael Halliday, and
Bronislaw Malinowski have
categorized the different functions of
communication.
● The class will be divided into five (5) groups. Each group will role play
the function of communication that is assigned to them.
GROUP 1- Control and Regulation
GROUP 2- Social Interaction
GROUP 3- Motivation
GROUP 4- Information Dissemination
GROUP 5- Emotional Expression
● They will be graded based on the criteria provided by the teacher.
