Conditionals Sentence
A conditional sentence consist 2 part :

If clause + Main clause

The order of the two clauses is flexible!


If the if-clause comes first, it must be followed by a comma.

Example :
1. If you are coming, I will prepare a grand meal.
2. I will prepare a grand meal if you are coming.

4. To give instructions or commands : If it is hot, go turn on the air conditioner

Notice the use of the word ‘were’ for the

Main Clause : Would + verb (base) That is because for second conditional most
pronouns (I, he, she, it) after ‘If’ uses ‘were’
Example : however ‘was’ can be used in formal language
especially in formal speech.
1. If I were you, I would never sleep late.
2. If I had won the lottery, I would travel around the world.
3. I would never come late if I were you
