Term Project Proposals, Final Report and Presentations

Each Student will present -at least- the following in max 5 slides in their proposal
Deadline: 14 April 2023
Subject: What is the subject of your term project?
Motivation: Why do you do it? Who will benefit from it? What problem will it solve? Would
someone pay for it?
Data: What is your data point? How many data points will be in your analysis? What is your
label? What are the features? What is the data source?
Models/Algorithms: Which ML method/s (regression, classification, clustering) will you use?
Expected Results: What could be the result of your project? What do you expect to gain at the
end?
FINAL PROJECT REPORTS (Individual submission)

• A written report (15-20 pages + appendix) due by 12 May 2023, Friday.

– The coding of a software prototype will be included as Jupiter Notebook (with outputs) together with data files used.
– 12 pt Times New Roman with 1,5 line spacing
– Return as a PDF
– Reason, argue and present different points of view. Maintain a critical, analytic and objective approach. Also remember source criticism.
– Utilize and cite multiple and diverse sources (at least 10 sources). Create a reference list (not dated before 2010) to the end of the
report. How to refer? A few examples:
1. A framework for understanding artificial intelligence research: insights from practice, Ransome Epie Bawack, Samuel Fasso Wamba, Kevin Daniel Andre Carillo, 11 Jan 2011, Journal of
Enterprise Information Management: Volume 34 Issue 2, https://www.emerald.com/insight/1741-0398.htm
2. The strategic used of artificial intelligence in the digital era: Systematic literature review and future research directions, Borges A.F.S, Laurindo F.J.B., Spinola M.M., Goncalves R.F, Mattos
C.A., International Journal of Information Management 57 (2021) 10225.
3. An Overview of Artificial Intelligence, Fatima Zannah Mustapha, Ahmed Abba Haruna, and Usman Tijjani Muhammad, Journal of Applied Sciences & Environmental Sustainability 6 (12):
60-74, 2020, e-ISSN 2360-8013.

– Pay attention to clarity and structure of the text. The report should be coherent, clear and easy to read allowing the reader to follow the
writers reasoning and track of thought.
– Include these sections: Introduction, Literature Review, EDA (data points, features and label/s descriptions, missing data analysis,
generating new features, outlier treatment, feature selection, correlation analysis, cleaning data, normalizing data, data visualization and
insights, statistical analysis), Model Selection and Validation (comparison of a few models/algorithms, and hyper parameter tuning),
Results, Future Work, References and Appendices
