INTRODUCTION
As the digital generation improves science and technology
significantly, this includes libraries which are utilized as
educational space for students. Hybrid library concept is a
continuation of conventional libraries that utilize digital
technologies in the system (Lukman, 2021). It is a gateway
of improving the access and utilization in such digital age
where the gaps between the tradition and modernization of
services and resources were combined to meet the new
trends where users will be highly satisfied. With the rising
demand on library utilization adopting the digital age, the
researcher were able to conduct the study.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
1. What is the level of accessibility of the academic libraries in the province of Albay along;
1. hybrid resources; and
2. hybrid services?
2.What is the level of usability of the academic libraries in the province of Albay in terms of
1. Hybrid resources
2.Hybrid services
3. What is the level of users’ satisfaction on the academic libraries in the province of Albay in
terms of;
1 hybrid resources; and
2 hybrid services?
4. Is there a significant relationship between the level of accessibility and level of usability of hybrid
resources and services of the academic libraries in the province of Albay?
5. Is there a significant relationship between the level of accessibility and level of satisfaction in the
hybrid resources and services of the academic libraries in the province of Albay?
6. Is there a significant relationship between the level of usability and level of satisfaction on the
hybrid resources and services in the academic libraries in the province of Albay?
THEORIES
To understand the framework of the study, the researcher
anchored her research with three theories.

 Penchansky and Thoma’s Theory of Access,

 The Usability Theory (Society for Technical
Communication), and
 Deming’s Theory on Total Quality Management. This
theory has the concept of implementing practices to help
organizations’ quality and productivity.
SCOPE
The locale of the study conducted was in the first and
second district only of the province of Albay. The research
was accommodated by two hundred (285) library users
from in each selected libraries from the mentioned districts
namely, Daniel B. Peña Memorial College Foundation, Inc.,
Amando Cope College, Tiwi Community College, San Jsoe
Community College, and the Divine Word College of
Legazpi.
RESEARCH DESIGN
This study made use the descriptive-correlational
method of research to ascertain facts and generate
insights in determining the accessibility, usability and
user satisfaction in the hybrid services and resources
of the academic libraries in Albay.
The purpose of descriptive-correlational research
is to describe as well as explain or validate some sort
of hypothesis or objective when it comes to a specific
group of people.
POPULATION
The actual population of the study was composed of
academic library users from selected academic
libraries in the first and second district of Albay
Province. The sample size was 285 students in each
academic higher institutions that offer hybrid resources
and services. Slovin’s formula was used to determine
the number of samples.
