Tim Hortons is a massive Canadian brand with over 5,000 stores in Canada and 15 other countries. It was founded by hockey player Tim Horton and businessman Jim Charade, who opened their first doughnut shop location in Hamilton, Ontario in 1964. While their first burger joint venture failed, the doughnut shop concept took off due to franchising their stores across Canada. After various ownership changes, Tim Hortons has grown to be a household name in Canada with continued sales growth.

biggest names in Canada, having opened 5,352 stores in not only Canada but 15 other countries. Tim's is mostly known for their doughnuts and coffee but has recently started to branch out into other Jim charade and Tim Horton's opened their first doughnut shop in Hamilton, Ontario but this was not the first doughnut shop Jim has ever made Before Jim worked in a doughnut factory but wanted to open his shop so he did but found that it wasn’t as successful as he thought it would be. He needed someone famous to boost his shop’s popularity, and that’s when he found Tim. Tim Hortons was defenseman for the Toronto Mapleleaf's and was an 4x Stanley Cup champion and 6x All-Star, but since money was still tight, he had multiple businesses as well. He met Jim when he was selling him a car. Jim and Tim opened a place together, but it wasn’t the usual doughnut place that we know today, instead it was a burger joint since Tim would only join Jim if he changed it, but sadly the place failed. So, Jim tried again to get Tim on board with the doughnut idea and Tim agreed the doughnut shop turned out well, but part of their success was because they franchised stores instead of buying them, making their name spread across Canada easier Tim Horton's went through three franchisees and all the relationships lived very short lives. Soon after Jim left the company, and Tim sought out the third franchisee who was named Ron. Ron accepted and Tim and Ron were now business partners in 1997 Tim Horton died in a car crash and Ron bought the company from Tims wife. Now Tims is thriving with a Canadian operations generated sales growth of 13% and international revenues rose 18% it is no wonder why Tims is a household name in Canada. INNOVATION
though Tims may seem like it is an invention I
believe that it is an innovation since Jim originally started with a doughnut shop before Tim and after a few mishaps they went back to Jim's idea and tweaked it to make it better.
