What is Security?

 C.I.A. Triad (confidentiality, Security, and Availability) – Standard for


computer security which based on three characteristic that describe the
utility of information.
 Communication Security- the protection of all communication media,
technology, and content.
 Information security – Protection of confidentiality, integrity, and availability
of information assets.
 Network security - a subset of communications security: The protection of
voice and data networking components, connections and content.
 Security – a state of being secure and free from danger or harm. Also, the
actions taken to make someone or something secure.

 4. Control, Safeguard, or Countermeasure – mechanism, policies, or
procedure
 5. Exploit - technique
 6. Exposure – Condition or state
