The Port of Algeciras is the port and harbor of Algeciras, a city located in the province of Cádiz in the autonomous
community of Andalusia, Spain. It is a commercial, fishing and passenger port.
The port is situated in a deep, natural harbor at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. Algeciras is an important
centre for handling international transshipments and direct container cargoes, also a terminus for the busy ferry and
Ro-Ro traffic between Spain and North Africa.
It is the largest port in Spain with almost 100 million tons cargo turnover in 2015 and largest in the Mediterranean Sea.
The port totals over 10 km of quays in different basins, which manage all types of passenger and freight traffic.
The harbor station in the Port of Algeciras Bay covers 1.7 acres and it is rated as small harbor.
Traffic figures: Approx 24,500 vessels visit the port, 69,800,000t of cargo, 3,040,000TEU and 4,800,000 passengers
handled annually. Load line zone: Summer. Max size: Container vessels: LOA 397m, draught 15.4m, 158,000DWT. ICR
Breakwater berth: LOA 330m, draught 23.0m, 322,400DWT The SBM berth can handle vessels up to 320,000DWT.

The cargo turnover of a single port is an important economic indicator of the state's economy,
although it does not always accurately reflect it and correlate with GDP. This is due to the structure of the
economy itself and the place of maritime trade for certain types of goods in its structure.
