• She is 61 years old.

• There are total 6 members, they are having a
joint family and all of them follows

• Informant herself is beneficiary of old age
pension.
Morbidity Status The head of the family, R. Subramanyam is
suffering from diabetes from the last six years.
• Medication is regular and currently on
treatment.
• Source of medication is Harbour Medical
Agency.
• Informant has been suffering from dist
allergy but she was not willing to get
medicated
• There is not any addiction of smoking,
alcohol consumption or any other chewing
tobacco.
Health seeking behaviour

• Government Hospital Karaikal is nearest health facility from

her residence, which is about 10km away.
• In minor ailments like cold, diarrhea, family approaches GH.
• No major ailments like Fracture , burn are present in family
• No difficulty in communicating health facility for availing
treatment.
• Family hasn’t been registered for any health insurance scheme.
Socio-Economics status

• Informant’s son owned a general store.

• Family has one ration card of red colour.
• There is irregular annual health expenditure. Family isn’t keeping
record of annual health expenditure actually.
• Family participates in local temple festival only.
• Family had good relationship with neighbours and they were co-
operative in nature.
• Family wasn’t involved in any community welfare activities.
Cultural practices

• Family had no history of consanguiness marriage.

• There was no gender preference .
