The experience acquired

with the cam motions
1600/1620 and
1751/1761 allowed us to
develop a new cam
motion with:

- a reinforcement of the kinematics part

- a better integration of the levelling part

- an optimal lubrication and oiltightness

1661 Levelling device
New position of the hydraulic jack to :

- reduce the dimensions of the machine

- make the loom adaptations easier

- cut down the costs

1661 Levelling device

New insert in hardened steel

1661 Leveling device

Weaving position Leveling position

Reinforcement of elastic rods

1661 Simplification of the hydraulic pump
- simplified tubes
- optimal filtration with OPD
- easier filling up
1661 Levers
100 mm wide levers
1661 Lubrication improvement

All these
components are
lubricated
1661 Oiltightness improvement :

the levers

New splash guard equipped with

metallic scrapers
1661 Oiltightness improvement:

Double covers with internal complete cover

INDEXING
CAMS
on 1600 and 1700 series
INDEXING CAMS
 We need 3 things for indexing the cams on 1600/1700 series…..

 1- indexing plate

 2- Looming / drawing in draft

 3- customer design
1- Position the rods (2) on
the indexing plate (1)

2- Place as many rods as there are

picks in the ratio: ex. : came 4/1.

3- Use five rods, position one at point N°1 and the other
fourths at the points numbered 5.
NOTE
Only cams with the same repeat length are to be
mounted on the same shaft.
Ex : cam 4/1 with cam 3/2.
The indexing position decides the cams mouting order
on the indexing plate. (see Stäubli standards)

- If the drive is on the weaver side : the first cam

assembled will drive the first harness frame.

- If the drive is opposite to the weaver side : the

first cam assembled will drive the last harness
frame.

4 codes : A1, B1, A2, B2

Picanol Optimax: indexing code B2 Picanol Omni + 800: indexing code A1

Case A1 or B1: The disk with the
inscription corresponding to the
weave must face to the indexing
plate.

Case A2 or B2: The disk with

the inscription corresponding
to the weave must face to the
operator.

Note : In all case, the index must be positioned before the rods,
considering the direction of rotation as being clockwise.

1- Definition of the cam:
Search the cam by reading on the indexing weave, the
various weaves possible starting from the successive lifting until an
existing cam is obtained in the Stäubli spare parts catalog.
