Signs of Narcissistic

Behavior
Lack of Empathy:

Friend: "I've been feeling really down lately. My

dog passed away, and I'm heartbroken."

Narcissist: "Oh, I totally understand how you

feel. When my cat died last year, it was the
most devastating thing ever. I don't think
anyone else has experienced such grief."
Grandiose Self-Importance:

Colleague: "I've been working on this project, and

I think I came up with an innovative solution."

Narcissist: "You know, I'm a genius when it comes

to problem-solving. I could have finished that
project in half the time and come up with
something even better."
Manipulative Behavior:

Partner: "I'm not comfortable with you going

out with your ex alone."

Narcissist: "You're so controlling! My ex is

just a friend, and if you can't trust me,
maybe we shouldn't be together."
Inability to Handle Criticism:

Coworker: "I noticed some errors in your

report, and I think you should review it again."

Narcissist: "How dare you criticize my work!

I'm the best in this company, and you have no
right to question me!"
Sense of Entitlement:

Server: "I'm sorry, but we're fully booked for

the night."

Narcissist: "Do you know who I am? I expect

you to find a table for me right now. I
deserve special treatment."
Exploitative Relationships:

Friend: "I'm going through a tough time

financially, and I could use some
support."

Narcissist: "I would love to help, but I just

spent all my money on a new designer
outfit. Maybe you can find someone else
to lend you money."
Jealousy and Envy:

Friend: "I just got a brand new car! It's my

dream car."

Narcissist: "Well, I'm happy for you, but you

know, my car is way more expensive and
luxurious. I bet people are more impressed
when they see me driving."
Constant Need for Admiration:

Acquaintance: "I recently won an award for

my artwork."

Narcissist: "That's cute, I've won several

prestigious awards for my art, and my work
is exhibited in the most exclusive galleries."
Difficulty Maintaining Healthy
Relationships:

Friend: "I feel like you only talk about

yourself and never ask how I'm doing."

Narcissist: "Oh, sorry about that. But, you

see, I'm just so fascinating, and my life is
incredibly busy and exciting, it's hard not
to focus on me."
Remember, these examples are fictional and
simplified to demonstrate the behaviors. In
real-life situations, interactions can be more
complex and nuanced. It's crucial to approach
individuals with empathy and understanding
while recognizing and setting boundaries if
needed.
