Begins beneath the anterior end of the corpus
callosum and continues above the corpus
callosum until reaches its posterior end
Callosal sulcus
• Cingulate gyrus is separated from the corpus
callosum by Callosal Sulcus
Cingulate sulcus
The cingulate gyrus is separated from the
superior frontal gyrus by cingulate sulcus
Paracentral lobule
• Area of the cerebral cortex that surrounds the
indentation of central sulcus
Precuneus
• Area of cortex bounded bu cingulate and
parieto-occipital sulci.
Cuneus
• Triangular area of cortex.

Collateral Sulcus
• Runs anteriorly below the calcarine sulcus
Lingual gyrus
• Area between collateral and calcarine sulci
Parahippocampal Gyrus
• Anterior to lingual gyrus
Uncus
• Hooklike
Medial occipitotemporal gyrus
• Extends from the occipital pole to the
temporal pole
Occipitotemporal Sulcus
• Between medial occipito-temporal and
occipito-temporal sulci
Occipitotemporal gyrus
• Lateral to Occipitotemporal sulcus
Inferior surface
• Olfactory sulcus
• Gyrus rectus
• Orbital gyri
