Definition
Mindfulness means living in the present moment.
Essentially, it means being (intentionally) more aware and
awake to each moment and being fully engaged in what is
happening in one's surroundings – with acceptance and
without judgment.

Why is mindfulness beneficial?

Mindfulness increases your ability to make controlled,
conscious, thoughtful decisions. Core mindfulness skills
teach you to slow down your mind, pay attention to all
thoughts, feelings, and urges (without judgment) and use
this information to choose an action purposefully, rather
than impulsively.
