The Sun
The Sun
The Sun is a star that is at the
center of our solar system. Earth
and seven other planets circle
around the Sun. Earth is the
third planet away from the Sun.
The Sun is the only star that we
can see in the day. The Sun
gives us hear and light. Without
the Sun, there would be no life
on Earth.
The Stars
The Stars
Nobody can count all the stars
in the sky. There are too many.
Our sun is the closest star to
Earth. All the other stars are
much farther away. Some of the
stars are bigger than our Sun
and some of the stars are
smaller. Because they are so far
away, all the stars look very
tiny.
The Moon
The Moon
The Moon circle around Earth. We can see
the Moon because the Sun shines light on it.
Sometimes we see a whole round Moon.
Sometimes we see only part of the Moon.
When people look at a full Moon,
sometimes they see a picture. In some
places, people say they see a man in the
Moon. In other places, people see a Moon
rabbit or a Moon frog.
Why do we have day and night? The Sun
shines on our planet, Earth. Earth turns
slowly round and round. Part of the Earth
faces the Sun. Part of the Earth faces away
from the Sun. When it is light, we have day.
When it is dark, we have night.
