What is Web 2.0?
● There are three generations of the World Wide Web, Web 1.0, Web 2.0, and Web 3.0. Each
generation has differences while building on the features of generations before.

● Web 2.0 introduced interactivity to the web with new technologies that allowed users to create and
use complex websites with features like blogging, social media, and video in 2004. This is what
most of us know and understand as the Web.

● Innovations offered by Web 2.0 technology and the most prominent applications are weblogs,
podcasts and video casts, social networks, bookmarks, tagging, photo and video sharing, and
mashups.

● Some popular Web 2.0 examples are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google Docs, Gmail, Reddit,
Amazon, Google Maps, Spotify, WhatsApp, Skype, etc.
