Comes from the Latin word HUMANUS-meaning human,
refined, and cultured.
It deals with the study of ancient and modern languages,
literature, law, history, philosophy, religion, films, and visual
and performing arts.
It is also regarded as social sciences.
Scholars working in this field often regarded as “HUMANIST”.
Protagoras was the first humanist popularized by his dictum,
“Man is the measure of all things.”
