AIR CONDITIONER

Maintenance: To maintain an air conditioner,

you need to follow 9 steps:
1) Change
Your Filters

The filters of each air conditioner

must be changed every month.
If it has the washable type, it only
requires cleaning
2) Fix AC
leaks
To ensure that there is no type of
leak, we can use the old "smoke"
trick .
3) Use a timer

Install a programmable thermostat

that allows you to set higher
temperatures when you're away and
cooler temperatures when you're
home.
4) Insulate to
keep Air Cool

Ducts in hot attics or crawl spaces

should be wrapped to keep the
airwithin them cool. You can use
spray foam, batt insulation, or rigid-
foaminsulation.
5) Service your
compressor or
condenser
It works best when it is free, so
remove all obstacles around it.
6) Keep your
AC unit cool

Consider running the air

conditioner in conjunction with
floor or ceiling fans to circulate
cold air more effectively.
7) Perform
annual AC
maintenance
The dealer who installed your
central AC (or one you find
locally)should put you on a
yearly cleaning schedule that
goes beyond justcleaning the
filters
Schedule this checkup before the cooling season starts and
make sureit includes the following tasks:
8) Get
airflow
As a recommendation to obtain
greater air flow, it is better to keep
the doors ajar.
9) Upgrade
for
efficiency
Federal laws require AC units
tobe a lot more efficient than
theywere just 10 years ago.
Forcentral AC, look for the
seasonalenergy-efficiency ratio,
or SEER;for window units, the
measure issimply called the
energy-efficiency ratio, or EER.
CONCLUSION:
Preventive maintenance of our air conditioning saves us money based on
electricity costs and the air flow will be in optimal conditions.
