ANCIENT EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION
• The civilization of ancient Egypt began at about 3000 B.C in the Nile valley. Egypt was
located in Northeast parts of Africa.
• The history of ancient Egypt was divided into three periods. These are: the old kingdom,
the middle kingdom and the new kingdom

THE PYRAMID
• Ancient Egyptian pyramids are the oldest and largest stone structures in the world
• The largest pyramid at Giza recognized as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world
EGYPTIAN WRITING
• The best known writing elaborated by the ancient Egyptians was called hieroglyphics.
• It was used for inscription carved or painted on temple and palace pillars and walls and
also on tombs.
MESOPOTAMIA
• Mesopotamia is a historical region of west Asia situated within the Tigris-Euphrates river
system ,in the northern part of the Fertile Crescent.
• Today Mesopotamia includes present day Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Syria, and Turkey
AKSUM
• The kingdom of Aksum was a kingdom in east Africa and south Arabia from classic
antiquity to the modern ages.
• Based in what is now Northern Ethiopia and Eritrea, and spanning present day Djibouti
and Sudan.
