This document summarizes a study on self-cleaning concrete presented by Kashish Katariya. It includes an introduction describing how Luigi Cassar invented self-cleaning concrete in 2013 and how commonly concrete is used in construction. It also outlines the need for self-cleaning concrete by explaining how it can help reduce air pollution and maintain clean surfaces on buildings.

Introduction

• Luigi Cassar an Italian

Chemist invented the self
cleaning concrete in 2013.

• Concrete is the second most consumed

substances on earth after water. Concrete is
used everywhere such as office buildings,
residential apartment, bungalow, any public
places, etc.

• Self-cleaning concrete – or photocatalytic

concrete – may sound futuristic, but it’s
already being used in parts of Japan and
Europe.

.
Need For
Self Cleaning Concrete

• Nowadays other than anything pollution

plays main role in the mass destruction of
environment.

• Self-cleaning concrete has a potential to keep

the city clean by reducing the air pollutants.

• Self cleaning concrete with its massive

reaction it makes the pollutant to be inactive.

• The cleanliness of the building surfaces can

be maintained and the air surrounding air
pollution can be reduced.
