Globalization creates gaps of information and
knowledge among the people of villages and cities.
Information gap causing the rural people loose their
control over resources.

Bangladesh NGO network for Radio and
communication BNNRC & few other organizations are
working from 2000 to ensure voice of the voiceless.
At last started the journey from 2008.
Community radio is transmitting programs based on
information, education, local entertainment and
development over 125 hours in a day.
840 hours in a week.
66 hours live broadcast.
Community radio programs
Programs transmitted via community radio are such
as.
Magazine, phone in, radio drama, local development
news, folk songs, talk show, feature and interviews etc.

First time local people are getting the chance to
participate directly to the broadcast media.
During the time of cyclone marshon electricity is cutt
off in costal areas at that time community radio help
people with information.
Good platform to open up dialogue in rural areas of

COVID 19.
Community radios are now broadcasting 165 hours of
programs.
800 community broadcasters are not able to work due
to lockdown.
200 community broadcasters are working online.

Fundraising process have been cancelled.
Revenue from advertising is being lost overnight.
No resources
No reserves for combating the situation.

Its crucial for confronting misinformation,
disinformation also for extending advice and comfort
to the people most affected.
