FIRST MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH
pen Door Missionary Baptist Church – Silay was initially led by Travis Moore, a missionary of BMAA to the Philippines, who
O
was succeeded by his brother, Sir Doyle Moore. Eventually, Sir Doyle offered Ptr. Erlito Carillo, who was then a 32-year-old
worker at Maranatha Bible College – Mansilingan and a student at West Negros University, to become his assistant in the Bible
College. This, Ptr. Carillo, gladly accepted. In 1977, Open Door Missionary Baptist Church – Silay welcomed its first ordained
pastor, Ptr. Carillo, first church workers, Susan Halim, Valentine Jamilo, Lary Felio, and Vickey Golez, and first church members,
Rojillo Guanzon, Jesie Barbara, and Antonio, the shoe maker.
In 1979, the Bible College transferred to Pulo, Brgy. Bubog, Talisay City. For five years, the church held its worship services in the
Bible College auditorium until the college decided to build a chapel within the school campus. From this point forward, the church
is now known as First Missionary Baptist Church – Bubog.
The church continued to grow. With the leadership of Ronnie Biñas, who is now with Jesus is Lord Ministry, two Missions in E.B.
Magalona were founded. To date, FMBC’s former mission church at Collisap is now a church with their pastor, Ptr. Armando Dela
Peña. FMBC continues to live out the mission of sharing the gospel and winning lost souls through their missions: Badian Baptist
Mission with Ptr. Dennis Griño and The Shelter Baptist Mission with Bro. Ezra Joe Leyson and his wife. Also, FMBC is happy to
be the home of some Bible College students who choose to spend their time to become workers of the church.
Presently, by the grace of God, the church is still blessed to be under the care of its Senior Pastor, Ptr. Erlito Carillo and, Ptr.
William Espada who was ordained as the church’s Youth Pastor on __. The church continues to serve the Lord through its Sunday
Worship Service, Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS), Cantata, prayer retreat, prayer meeting, discipleship programs, small group
Bible study, and participation to youth camps and fellowships
