‫ والدكتور في مكتبه‬،‫كانت الساعة تدق الثانية عشر‬
‫ وكان احد الفقراء في‬،‫يكتب خطابًا ليلقيه في االجتماع‬
‫تلك الساعة جالسًا بجوار ابنته الحامل التي كانت‬
‫تصرخ من شدة االلم وترتجف من البرد ودموعها على‬
‫ مات زوجها بعد ان تركها حامًال فهي بحاجة‬،‫خديها‬
‫ فأصبحت على قيد شبرين‬,‫الى من يساعدها في والدتها‬
‫من الموت‬
it was 12 o'clock, and the doctor was in his office writing a
speech to deliver at the meeting. At that time, one of the poor
people was sitting next to his pregnant daughter, who was
screaming in pain and shivering from the cold. Her tears were on
her cheeks. Her husband had died after leaving her pregnant, so
she needed someone to help her with her childbirth. She was on
the brink of death.
 ‫جلس الرجل الفقير يفكر‪ ،‬ال يعرف ماذا يفعل ليخفف آالم ابنته‪ ،‬وإذ‬
‫بزوجته العمياء التي كانت تبكي وتضرب الحائط برأسها تقول له‪" :‬‬
‫أنسيت ان الدكتور خالد يعالج الفقراء مجانًا؟" أذهب اليه واطرق بابه‬
‫فربما ينقذ ابنتنا من الموت‪ .‬خرج الرجل من دون تردد وطرق الباب‬
‫ثالث دقات ففتح له خادم اسود وسأله‪ :‬ماذا تريد ؟‬
‫اجاب الرجل‪ :‬ابنتي تموت واريد ان احادث الدكتور وبسرعة‪.‬‬
‫الخادم‪ :‬انه مشغول وقد نبهني ان ال استقبل احدًا‪ .‬فأجاب الرجل ولكن‬
‫ابنتي تموت‪ ،‬فأقفل الباب وجهه‪ ,‬ورجع الفقير خافق القلب يفكر بما حل‬
‫به‪ ،‬وقال لنفسه ‪ " :‬اجل سأفعل ذلك فمد يده وقال‪ " :‬حسنة يا سيدي "‬
‫فانتهرته المارة وفشل في كل مرة‪ ،‬واذا بشرطي يمر به ويقول له ‪ :‬ما‬
‫هذا العمل يا سيدي‪ ،‬تعال معي الى مركز البوليس‪ .‬وهناك قضى ليلة‬
‫كاملة‪.‬‬
The poor man sat thinking, not knowing what to do to relieve his daughter’s pain,
when his blind wife, who was crying and hitting the wall with her head, said to him:
“Have you forgotten that Dr. Khaled treats the poor for free?” I go to him and knock
on his door, maybe he will save our daughter from death. The man left without
hesitation and knocked on the door three times. A black servant opened it and
asked him: What do you want?
The man replied: My daughter is dying and I want to talk to the doctor quickly.
Server: He is busy and he warned me not to receive anyone. The man replied, “But
my daughter is dying.” He closed the door and closed his face. The poor man
returned, heart pounding, thinking about what had happened to him. He said to
himself, “Yes, I will do that.” So he extended his hand and said, “Okay, sir.” Passers-
by rebuked him, but he failed every time. Then a policeman passed by him and said
to him: “What’s wrong?” This job, sir, come with me to the police station, and there
he spent the whole night.
 ‫ بعد ان أطلق‬،‫وفي الصباح عاد الفقير الى منزله‬
‫سراحه وإذا به يسمع صراخًا عاليًا ودخل بيته‬
‫فوجد زوجته تبكي وتصرخ على ابنتها التي‬
.‫فارقت الحياة‬
" ‫في تلك اللحظة كان الطبيب يلقي خطابه قائًال‬
‫ ان الطب نبع يسقى منه الفقراء‬،‫أيها السادة‬
In the morning, the poor man returned to his home, after he ." ‫مجانًا‬
was released, and he heard loud screaming. He entered his
house and found his wife crying and screaming for her
daughter, who had died.
At that moment, the doctor was giving his speech, saying,
“Gentlemen, medicine is a spring from which the poor drink
freely.”
