rate.
The acceleration of the body is
directly proportional to the net
force acting on the body and
inversely proportional to the
mass of the body. This means
that as the force acting upon an
object is increased, the
acceleration of the object is
increased.

SAMPLE PROBLEMS:

If a baseball is thrown at 150 m/s² and its mass is 0.50 kg what force is
necessary to change its direction?

Formul Net Force = Mass × Acceleration

F = 0.50 kg × 150 m/s²
a: F = 75 kg m/s²

= 75 N
SAMPLE PROBLEMS:

Two rocks with different masses fell to the ground. The big rock with a mass of
10 kg hit the ground at the force of 98 N. The small one with a mass of 1 kg hit
the ground at the force of 9.8 N. Did both of the rocks accelerate at the same
rate or did they not? Let us find out.

Formul
A= 98 N A= 9.8 N
a: 10 kg 1 kg

A= 9.8 m/s² A= 9.8 m/s²

yes, they accelerated at the same rate BUT with different forces.
Frictional Force
is a resistance force that opposes the relative motion or
tendency of such motion between two objects in contact.
It arises due to the roughness of surfaces and can be
categorized into two main types: static friction and kinetic
friction.
Frictional Force
Static friction is a force that keeps an object at rest.
A static force is too weak to move an object because it is
being countered by equally strong opposite forces. The
most common example of a static force is static friction
on a stationary object
Frictional Force
Kinetic Force is defined as a force that acts between
moving surfaces. A body moving on the surface
experiences a force in the opposite direction of its
movement. The magnitude of the force will depend on the
coefficient of kinetic friction between the two materials.
Balanced Forces
Balanced forces are those that are opposite in
direction and equal in size. Balanced forces are
considered to be in a state of equilibrium. When
forces are balanced there is no change in
direction.
Unbalanced Forces

The resultant of two opposite forces acts on an

object and brings it in motion. These opposite
forces are called unbalanced forces.
