Answering questions

of
Compulsory Science
in the SEE

By Bikram
Many examinees might have the same level
of knowledge and understanding but they receive
different marks or subject grades in the exams.
It is so because they write answers to the
questions in different ways.

By Bikram
For any student, it is very much important
that how much one knows but it is equally
important that how one expresses what he or
she knows.
So, examinees should have skill to present
his/her knowledge in the most effective way.

By Bikram
Actually, the way they write the answers in
the exams determines the score or the grade
they secure.
Some students present their answers in
the most beautiful way but others fail to do the
same but the answers they write might me very
much alike.

B. Answering Questions
Here are some tips to answer the questions
in the exam of Compulsory Science.

By Bikram
1. Instructions
Read the instructions at
the first page of your answer
sheet thoroughly before you
start writing the details of you.
Actually it is a one time
job in the whole duration of
the examinations.
And follow the
instructions properly as in the
words.

inches at both the sides of
the answer sheet.

By Bikram
The space in the margin are used by the
examiner to write the marks you get for the
answer of each question.

By Bikram
3. Marks for the question
See the marks you get as you answer the
question correctly and answer accordingly.

By Bikram
4. Writing Question no.
Write the question no. of each question
clearly either at the margin or at the middle of
the page.

By Bikram
5. Leaving space

By Bikram
7. Answering in sentence
Write the answers in complete sentence
without leaving it incomplete.

By Bikram

8. No blank pages between
Write on both pages of the answer sheet
without leaving any pages blank between your
writing.
In case a page is left blank, write ‘PTO’
clearly on the page.

By Bikram
9. Answering questions in order
If possible, try to
answer the questions as
in the order of the
question paper. If there
are groups, solve the
questions in the same
group together at a place.
If not possible you
can choose the easier
questions at first but you
must write the question
no. clearly. By Bikram
In case, there are sub questions in the
same question no., answer these question at a
place.

By Bikram
10. Answering separate questions
If there are more than one question in the
same question no., write the answer of each
question separately in the different paragraphs.

By Bikram
11. Getting signed in changing the ink
colour
Get the sign of the invigilator before you
start writing after changing the pen or other
writing devices with different ink colour.

By Bikram
12. Making table
Make table in the answer of the questions
which ask you to write the difference. Don’t write
the examples as the difference. Give examples
when it is asked.

By Bikram
Always write the contrasting features while
writing the difference. Examiner might not
accept your answer if it is not a difference.

By Bikram
13. Balanced chemical equation
Whenever necessary, write balanced
chemical equations for the chemical reaction.

By Bikram
14. Avoiding unnecessary writing
Answer the question as instructed don’t write
unnecessarily while writing the differences, features,
properties, uses, similarities, methods etc.

By Bikram
15. Avoid answering the same question

list in proper (SI) units and represent them with
usual symbols.

By Bikram
2. Using formula
Use the scientific formula to solve
numerical rather solving it through arithmetic
means such as unitary method, ratio and
proportion, percentage etc.

3. Step by step calculation

Step by step calculation helps you to find

out the mistakes easily in case if you make.

By Bikram
4. Write the answer in words at the end

examples so you need to draw the figures,
diagrams, ray diagrams or charts while answering
questions in the exams.

By Bikram
1. No free hand drawing
Avoid free hand drawing and use scale to
draw the lines in your diagrams or figure.

By Bikram
2. Using pencil

Compulsory Science, the time provided for you
is 2hr and 15min i.e. 135min.
So, time for solving question of 1 mark
= 135/75 min
= 1.8 min
= 1.5 min (approx.)

By Bikram
2. No indication in the answer sheet
Be careful not to leave any indication or
sign in the first page or anywhere inside that the
