What are the goals of teachers who use The Silent Way
method?

To use the target language all the time, to help students to develop their
own models, also with this method the students are more involved so
they learn better.

What is the role of the teacher? What is the role of the


student?

The teacher guides the class by doing mimic and the students practice
what they are seeing.

What are some characteristics of the teaching/learning


process?

Is contructivist, focus on discovery, creativity, problem solving and the


use of accompanying materials.
What is the nature of the student-teacher interaction? What is the nature of the student-
student interaction?

Both teacher and learner work cooperatively to reach the educational desired goals.

What areas of language are emphasized? What language skills are emphasized?

Speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary in context and syntax such as tenses and comparatives.

What is the role of the student´s native


language?

To not being used.
