THE INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF


TECHNOLOGY AND DIGITAL
LEARNING TOOLS ON IMPROVING
ENGLISH ABILITY IN STUDENTS

Learning English is considered a challenging task
because it requires more practice in various skills. In this digital era,
learning models leverage technology as a learning medium to
provide broader access and opportunities for students to build their
own knowledge. The study aims to explore the impact of
integrating technological tools, such as language learning apps,
multimedia resources, and online platforms, in English language
teaching. . This analysis involves qualitative and quantitative
techniques to gain meaningful insights from the collected data.

Abstract

English is one of the most widely used languages
globally and serves as the international language in
various contexts, including business, academic,
technology, and entertainment. In the continually
evolving educational landscape, technology has become
an integral part of the learning process. Innovation for the
development of teaching techniques using computer
technology includes the use of Learning Management
Systems (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environments (VLE),
commonly known as online classes. This online class
platform can also be utilized for teaching English at the
university level, covering the improvement of four
language skills. Doris Holzberger et al. (2013) regard INTRODUCTION
digital learning as the delivery of content in digital media
form (such as text or images) through the Internet.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
English is one of the subjects that is generally
common; it should be understood by all students, not only
in the Indonesian Literature program but in all programs.
English should indeed be one of the skills that every
student must possess. In an era where knowledge and
information flow rapidly, the implementation of digital
learning covers various fields and industries. From
different perspectives or standpoints, its definition varies.

CONCLUSION
Based on the results of this
research, it can be concluded that the
use of technology has a significant
positive influence on improving
students' English language skills. The
implementation of language learning
applications, online platforms, and
various other technological tools
makes a positive contribution to
various aspects of language skills,
including speaking, listening, reading,
and writing abilities. Technology-
based learning not only facilitates
access to more diverse and interactive
learning resources, but also provides
flexibility in time and place for
students.
