MITING DE AVANCE Guidelines
Criteria and Qualifications
Criteria and Qualifications All Candidates Must Meet To Be Eligible For
Nomination:
1. All candidates MUST have and maintain a passing grade or above while
filing for candidacy and while in office.

2. All candidates MUST be bonafide FIPS students.

3. All candidates should be enrolled and registered for the academic year in
which the nomination is open.

4. For the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and auditor positions,


ONLY candidates from grades 9-12 are eligible to run or to file for
candidacy.

5. For the assistant secretary and assistant treasurer positions, ONLY


candidates from grades 7-10 are eligible to run or file for candidacy.
Criteria and Qualifications

6. For the year-level representatives, all the class presidents from grades 4-12
will be automatically appointed to be placed as representatives. In case the
class president is elected to a higher position, the next position will assume
directly the vacancy.

7. The filing of candidacy will run from November 13-17, 2023.

8. All the candidates from grades 10-12 who will lose the election will
s, automatically be considered as the senators of the council.
Campaign Rules and Guidelines
• All nominees must make introductory speeches about the position they are running for.

• Speeches must have a serious and professional tone. You are running for an important
office in the Filipino International Private School.

• Each party list must submit their campaign videos on or before November 17, 2023.

• There shall be no tarpaulins in the campaign. Candidates or representatives of a political


party shall attach campaign materials only to areas designated by the Supreme Student
Council.

• No parents/guardians shall be involved in the campaign process inside the school


premises.
Campaign Rules and Guidelines
• Threats of bodily harm, intimidation, coercion, and acts of the like are strictly
prohibited.

• No selling of merchandise or materials related to the election.

• No candidate shall give, offer, or promise to any student or student organization


any benefit not authorized by the Standard By-Laws and Constitution of the
Supreme Student Council to influence the votes of that student or members of that
organization.

• All candidates must attend the Miting de Avance on November 23, 2023. Each
party list must present its platform or manifesto to convince the students.

• The campaign period will run from November 20-24, 2023.


Election Guidelines

• Voting will be done online through a Google form.

• All candidates are no longer allowed to campaign on election day.

• Election Day will be on November 28, 2023, right after the morning routine.

MITING DE AVANCE Guidelines
These are the guidelines for conducting a Student Council Miting
De Avance.

1. The moderators of the miting de avance will be the SSC advisers


of the girls and boys department.

2. Each party has given 15-20 minutes for the presentation of their
speeches and platforms/manifesto.

3. Candidates must be watchful of their words and language usage.


There should be no FOUL, MALICIOUS, SARCASTIC, and
VULGAR words in the event. 4. If the candidate happens to violate
guideline number 3, the candidate is automatically not allowed to
speak throughout the meeting.

5. After the presentation of the platforms, the students and the teachers from the
audience are allowed to raise questions. Each party is only allowed to entertain 20
questions. Each question must be answered only for 2-3 minutes only. The moderators
will give some signal if your allotted time is almost over or already over.

6. If another party list has concern/s about the other party list, they are allowed to raise
and ask questions, but a maximum of 5 questions only.

7. Use the ‘raise hand’ signal/button for questions or concerns.

8. Teachers, students, administrators, and candidates are not
allowed to interrupt or interfere during the speech and platform
presentations. Questions, clarifications, and concerns will be
entertained during the Open Forum/Question and Answer period.

9. All candidates must behave and must observe decency and


good manners.

10. All the guidelines must be adhered to and abide by everyone.
