Many Churches…
Churches and denominations more
later…

• As Christianity grew from a small Jewish movement into the

largest religion the World had ever seen, some believers
disagreed about how some beliefs worked for them or how
rules should be followed.
• This led to lots of new churches being founded with slight
differences. These churches can belong to the same or
different denomination (the bigger type of Church like
Catholic, Protestant; Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist,
Evangelical…). There can even be slight differences between
individual churches of the same denomination on the same
street!
• What they all have in common though, are the core beliefs,
Creeds and Prayers.
The Lord’s Prayer was
given by Jesus. Although
the many different
Churches
(denominations) differ in
how important they think
some beliefs are or how
they worship, they agree
on the words here.

Bible quote
'Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and
various ways by the prophets, but in these last days he
has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all
things, through whom he also created the worlds. He is
the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of
God’s very being, and he sustains all things by his
powerful word.'
