Introduction
• To filtrate the stormwater by using a filter.
• Having different layers of different materials.
• For recharge through well in groundwater.
6
Recharging Through Wells
• Recharge well is a hydrologic process where water
moves downward from surface water to
groundwater. Recharge is the primary method through
which water enters an aquifer.
7
Literature Review
• (Singh & Jain, 2015) perform an experiment of ground water
recharging well in the presence of the Medium sand mixed
storm water. The results evaluated in terms of recharging rates
and clogging time. Hundreds percent (100%) suspended solids
were trapped in the 10 cm upper layer of the material.
8
Literature Review
• (Kambale, Sarangi, Singh, & Singh, 2009) study to evaluate the
filtration system using groundwater in order to check and
evaluate the filtration unit of the recharge well on the recharge
rate and the sediment concentration. It observed coarse sand
reduce the filtration rate.
9
Literature Review
• (Abdel Majid Nassar, 2013) make a scientific research in
laboratory on absolution of storm water using sand filter and
observed that used of sand as filter. the sand filter can remove
all sediment and provide purified water with a concentration of
suspended solids less than 20 mg/liter.
10
Problem Statement
• To utilize the surface storm water.
• To install the recharging well in ponding areas.
• Lack of ground water and need to recharge water
• Reduce the wastage of storm water.
11
Objectives
• To check the quality of storm water and improve the quality of
water using filters.
• To design efficient ground water recharging well filter by
experimental approach.
12
STUDY AREA
We have collected 4 samples of stormwater from
different areas, from those places where rain water
collected. Those 4 areas are shown in next slide.
