DESCRIPTIVE
• It is STATISTICS
stating a fact.
• It uses main
descriptive statistical
treatment (mean,
median, mode, and
standard deviation).
Example
1.) At least 5 % of all
fires reported last year in
Metro Manila were
deliberately set by
arsonist.

2.) Of all babies who
have received BCG
vaccine at Malolos
Provincial Hospital in the

Inferential Statistics
- It uses probability
- It involves hypothesis testing
- The statistician tries to makes
inferences from samples to
population
Inferential Statistics
- Consist of generalizing samples
to populations, estimations and
hypothesis test, determining a
relationship among variables
and realizing predictions.
