SHAKESPEARE Syarin THE INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE MAN William Shakespeare was baptised in Stratford – Upon – Avon , Warwickshire , on April 26 , 1564 . His father , John Shakespeare , was a glove maker and wol merchant and his mother , Mary Arden , was a daughter of a well – to – do landowner from Wilmcote , South Warwickshire . It was likely that Shakespeare was educated at the local King Edwin VI Grammar School in Stratford . At the age of 18 , Shakespeare was married to Anne Hathaway , the daughter of a local farm on November 28 , 1582 and the thing is that she was 8 years older than him ! Which we can see that they might be deeply in love in each other .Their first child , Susanna was born six months after their wedding and two years ater , t7he couple had twins , Hamnet and Judith . But the sad thing is that their son died at a age of 11 . During the period of 1585 and 1592 , it was a ‘lost year’ and when he reappeared , Shakespeare is already at London , working in a theatre and surprisingly , there’s no news about his family …… MORE ABOUT THE MAN OF ENGLISH Shakespeare was prolific , with the records of his first play appearing in 1594 . His hard work quickly paid off and establishing himself as a playwright and actor and had found a sponsor . And in January 1593 , his theatre came to a halt due to a plague . Being the smart Shakespeare , to make his sponsor happy , he changed the name of the theatre from “Lord Chamberlian’s Men” to “The King’s Men” as King James took over the company . Because Shakespeare worked and performed for them , the company became the biggest and most famous acting company and Shakespeare became a wealthy director , writer , actor and stockholder in “The King’s Men” . He brought a New Palace , a large house in Stratford . And in 1611 , Shakespeare , retired and left London and made will on March 25 ,the year 1616, which he left his property to the male heirs of his eldest daughter , Susanna . He also bequeathed his ‘second best bed’ to his wife and the only thing that people know was that they live apart from each for 20 years of their marriage ! And he died on April 23 1616 and it was on his birthday and he was age 52 when he left this world and was buried in Holy Trinity Church in Stratford . Because during his time , when the graveyard were full , people would dig out other’s corpse and burn it so that another could be buried so Shakespeare wrote “Good Friends , for Jesus’ sake forbear , To dig the bones enclosed here ! Blest be the man that spares there stones , And curst be he that moves my bones” making people to be afraid to dig his bones out ! HOW DID HIS LITERARY WORKS HAVE INFLUENCED THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE (?)
