Religious Rituals
Week 14
Prof. Nathaniel A. Rondina, MATG, LPT
‘Rituals are patterned forms of
behavior that have something to
do with the supernatural realm.
They are performed in a
repetitive nature”[1].
[1] Ibid., 115.
The first characteristic is a feeling or emotion
of respect, awe, fascination, or dread in relation
to the sacred. The second characteristic of ritual
involves its dependence upon a belief system
that is usually expressed in the language of
myth. The third characteristic of ritual action is
that it is symbolic in relation to its reference.
