General Bradock died shortly after the battle and the British had no great general to lead their army.

Because of this the british lost many battles for several years. The French army was strong and had the help of the Indians.

● The frontier covered a large area, the British army could not be everywhere. The indian did their part in
destroying homes and killing and capturing the settlers.

● Finally the king of England sent another army to help them. One after another the English took away the
French forts in Ohio Valley, they finally were driven completely out of the Ohio Valley.

● Because the French still controlled most of Canada, English decided the must captured Quebec that was
the most important settlement in New France. This decistion was taken to prevent France to rebuilt their
strenght. The only to win the war was to drive the French out od North America.

● Quebec is built high on a cliff besides the Saint Lawrence River, this made difficult to attack. Because of
this the French thought it would be impossible to the English to attack them in that place. Late one night a
line of British soldiers, worked noiselessly to climb the steep rock. They were not seen o heard by the
enemy. This time the French were taken by surprise, they try to defend themselves but they had to
surrender. The English victory at Quebec was the beginning of France Defeat.
