This research employed the mixed


method design which is the
combination of quantitative and
qualitative approach to collect and
analyze the data.

The mixed method was used in


order to obtain a clearer picture from
the quantitative data, and then to use
the qualitative data to provide better
understanding and explanation of
the research problem..

Students’ Perception toward English Online Learning

Table 1. The result of the total students’ perception statements

From the table 1 above, the total data obtained from the students’ perception statements showed that the
students with 40,5% chose the strongly agree answer, the students with 47,3% chose the agree answer,
the students with 10,8% chose the neutral answer, the students with 1,4% chose the disagree answer, and
no one from the students chose the strongly disagree answer.

1. The lecturer aspect:

- The lecturer always gave the response well during English online
learning.

- The lecturer always gave the feedback after the students submit the
assignments.

- The lecturer always gave the time for discussion about online
learning materials.

- The lecturer always gave the information and the direction clearly
about online learning.

2. The knowledge delivering aspect:

- The online learning increased students’ knowledge about English


learning materials.

- The online learning increased the students’ productivity in


learning.

- The online learning application that chosen by the lecturer was


easy to use.

3. The instructional material aspect:

- The online learning material was not too difficult and not too easy to understand.

- The lecturer always presented the learning materials through language that was easy to
understand.

- The online learning process that conducted by the lecturer was effective.

CONCLUSION

- Most of the students are interested in online


learning.

- Students’ perception toward English online learning


are very good.

- Online learning is considered to be more fun and


flexible.

- The data proved that the research respondents had


positive perceptions of online learning during
COVID-19 new normal.
