INTRODUCTION
 Education is the process of acquisition of knowledge, skills, beliefs and moral
habits.
 The main aim of education is to make the people better and to let them develop
their own skills and confidence which are needed for their life.
 The modern education system of india is incapable to achieve humanitarian
and peaceful social life.
 Gandhiji’s principle on basic education would be able to inspire the whole
world with his ideas of truth, non violence, peace and love.
 His idea on handicraft is very important as it represents the culture and
tradition of any country.
ABOUT MAHATMA GANDHI
 Gandhiji’s full name is “Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi”.
 2 October 1869 – 30 January 1948.
 He was an Indian lawyer, Politician, social activist, and writter who became
the leader of the nationalist movement against the British rule of india.
 As such, he came to be considered as the Father of his country.
 Gandhi adopted the short dhoti woven with handspun yarn as a mark of
identification with India’s rural poor.
 He was imprisoned many times and for many years in both south africa and
India.
Gandhi said, “ By education, I
mean all – around drawing out of
the best in child and man – body,
mind and spirit”.
