 Paragraphs can be developed in a
number of different ways, so there
are several types of paragraphs.

Descriptive Paragraph
 A Descriptive Paragraph describes
a process or a sequence of events,
or the characteristics or structure
of something.
Narrative Paragraph
 A Narrative Paragraph is also
descriptive, but tends to give
background information, that is, an
account or description of past
events perhaps.
Explanatory Paragraph
 An Explanatory Paragraph
provides information.
Introductory Paragraph
 An Introductory Paragraph sets
the scene and outlines what is
going to follow.
Persuasive Paragraph
 A Persuasive Paragraph tries to
convince the reader about
something and may make
recommendations.
Contrastive Paragraph
 A Contrastive Paragraph shows the
contrast between two things or
subjects.
Argumentative Paragraph
 An Argumentative Paragraph
presents an argument in favor or
against some points or logic.
