number of different ways, so there
are several types of paragraphs.

A Descriptive Paragraph describes
a process or a sequence of events,
or the characteristics or structure
of something.
Narrative Paragraph
A Narrative Paragraph is also
descriptive, but tends to give
background information, that is, an
account or description of past
events perhaps.
Explanatory Paragraph
An Explanatory Paragraph
provides information.
Introductory Paragraph
An Introductory Paragraph sets
the scene and outlines what is
going to follow.
Persuasive Paragraph
A Persuasive Paragraph tries to
convince the reader about
something and may make
recommendations.
Contrastive Paragraph
A Contrastive Paragraph shows the
contrast between two things or
subjects.
Argumentative Paragraph
An Argumentative Paragraph
presents an argument in favor or
against some points or logic.
