Kinapharma Limited instigated the breast cancer awareness

drive on October 5th across the entire corporate.

Mr. Kofi, Managing Director of the Kinagroup also
dynamically participated in the campaign and stirred his staff
to partake with ardent concern and zeal.
Pink ribbons were distributed among the entire staff to
brandish on their shirts to divvy their participation in the
breast cancer awareness drive.
• October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is marked in
countries across the world, and helps to escalate devoutness and
espouse for awareness, early diagnosis, and treatment as well as
palliative care for women facing this disease.

• There are about 1.7 million new cases and 522 000 deaths from
breast cancer each year. Breast cancer is the most common
cancer in women world wide, and is the most common cause of
cancer among women in most countries. In low- and middle-
income countries the incidence has been rising steadily due to
increased life expectancy, changing reproductive patterns (such
as later age at first childbirth and less breast-feeding), and the
adoption of western lifestyles.
• In Ghana, breast cancer accounted for 31.8% of cancer
incidence. It is more common to be diagnosed with
advanced breast cancer in African countries, when
compared to Western countries, as evidenced by around
70% of women being initially diagnosed in Ghana with
advanced breast cancer breast cancer.
• Previous studies find Ghanaian women are diagnosed at a
younger age and at more advanced stages (III and IV), and
have tumors with characteristics like African American
women. We sought to remedy gaps in knowledge about
breast cancer survival in Ghana and its relation to
demographic and biologic factors of the tumors at
diagnosis to assist in cancer control and registration
planning.
• The management of KinaPharma is indomitable
to unify hands with WHO to disseminate the
cognizance of breast cancer among Ghanian
women and vigorously working on the
availability of treatment of breast cancer for
local population at affordable cost.
• An immense initiative by KinaPharma
