PEACE EDUCATION
• Is the process of acquiring the values, the
knowledge and developing the attitudes, skills
to live in harmony with others and with the
natural environment.

• It is done by teaching students on how to


acquire good attitudes and behavior to
promote peace to everyone.
MAIN REASONS OF PEACE EDUCATION
1. To provide students the valus they have to sustain peace
2. To handle the after-effects of war and conflict.
3. To develop social responsibility that is needed in 21st
Century.
4. To provide hope and future for the younger generation.
5. To value the concept of peace and to understand war
behavior.
BASIC ASSUMPTIONS OF PEACE EDUCATION

• ASSUMPTION- a fact or statement (as a


proposition, axiom, postulate, or notion) taken for
granted

CONFLICT RESOLUTION
• it is the act of
finding an answer
or solution to a
strong agreement
VIOLENCE PREVENTION
• it is an act of
stopping violent
action behavior
before it begins or
simply preventing a
violent action to
start.
PROMOTING NON-VIOLENCE
• is the refusal to do harm to other humans as life
sacred and is an absolute value
TYPES OF PROMOTING NON-VIOLENCE
1. Non-violence Direct Action
-occurs when a group takes an action which is
intended to reveal an existing problem without
causing any harm
2. Non-violent Protest and Persuasions
-seeks to produce awarenes of the dissent
*dissent- hold or express opinions that are at
variance with those previously, commonly or
officially expressed
3. Non-violent Non-
cooperation
- presents the opponent
with difficulties in
maintaining the normal
operation of the system
IN CONCLUSION:
Peace Education is needed to be taught by
teachers and gives great idea in the younger
generation now a days. It gives hope and
positive outlook in life and molding their
personality as good citizens of the society.
