Quality Assurance Process

Quality Assurance (QA) of Learning Resources (LRs)


For the evaluation stage, it check the conformity of LRs with the set standards and
specifications (content, language, and design layout).
Individual Review shall be done by the QA team member on his/her own time in
the following manner and must accomplish the individual evaluation tool and
Summary of Findings, Corrections, and Review Form, (SFCR) and give own
recommendations that will determine whether the LR requires minor or major
revisions or is ready for field testing.
Team evaluation shall commence as soon as the QA team members finish their
individual evaluation, discuss compare and validate their findings and come up with
a consensus on the comments and findings to be included in the Team SFCR and
Team evaluation tool.
Quality Assurance Processes

LR Management Team shall form the Quality Assurance Teams based on DepEd
Order No. 217, Series 2016 entitled “Guidelines on the Screening and
Selection of Potential LREs” and may also involve evaluators from private
schools, colleges and universities, government and non-government
agencies/organization and professional associations if necessary.

● All text-based learning resources shall be evaluated following the prescribed QA
processes. However, donated learning resources shall be QA based on rules
and regulations issued by DepEd.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree holder (preferably Education)


2. Content expert/Major/With at least five years teaching
experience in the learning area he/she is applying.
3. Have at least 24 hours relevant training as developer (writer,
editor, illustrator, layout artist) in the development of
instructional materials (articles, modules, activity sheets,
lesson plans, DLL) and content related from three years to the
present.
Roles and Responsibilities

1. Have been recognized for his/her exceptional training and teaching


skills.
2. Able to use writing/editing software (Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.)
3. Not an author, editor, or consultant of any commercially developed
learning resources submitted to DepEd for procurement for the last
three (3) years from the date of application.
4. Is physically fit, willing, and able to travel to attend and participate in
an actual content evaluation/review/validation activity lasting from
eight to ten days and which may not be held in their province/city.
Roles and Responsiblities

5. Attends the orientation meeting and participates in the


evaluation of the learning resources (LRs) developed by
DepEd field offices (online or offline if necessary);
6. Participates in the team evaluation and reviews the revised
LRs (online or o if necessary);
7. Evaluates the developed LRs in the assigned learning area,
grade levels, ana to the specific area of evaluation to check
the following:

Roles and Responsiblities

1. Reviews the revised and final LRs in the assigned evaluation area, learning
area, and grade level/s to check for compliance to the given comments and
recommendations and to DepEd standards on content, language, layout made
by the development teams.
2. Accomplishes the prescribed evaluation checklists and summary of findings,
provides evaluation reports, and writes specific comments and
recommendations on the margins of the LRs that shall guide the development
teams in revising the modules/LRs prior to their finalization.
3. Discusses with other team mates to arrive through consensus on the
comments and revisions that shall be made on the LRs (if necessary);

4. Submits the accomplished evaluation checklists/tools and the LRs with


marginal notes to the QA organizers who shall give these documents to the
development team.
5. Performs final review of the revised and final LRs to ensure the given
comments and recommendations are accurately, completely, and appropriately
implemented prior to printing.
6. 1f necessary, checks, proofreads, and revises the content of the accompanying
meta data of the assigned LRs for online publication, and
7. Submits all necessary documents (digital and hard copies) to the assigned
DepEd staff.
Note:

QA Team Members shall NOT be members of the


development team/ (e.g, writer/author, internal
reviewer/consultant/editor, layout artist, or illustrator) of the
LRs that will be assigned to them.
