APPLIED FORCE
Applied force is a force where a object/person
pushes or pulls a object.
Ex-Pushing a chair, pulling a rope
Normal Force
A force that holds something
up.
Examples-A book on a table, us
on the earth
Friction Force
Friction is when two surfaces
slide past each other.
Tip-Friction always acts in the
opposite direction.
Example- Shown in diagram
Drag-Air resistance
& Water Resistance
When you ride a bicycle do you
feel air pushing you back that is
called air resistance .
Almost same as friction.
Water Resistance is same but in
water.
To reduce water resistance we use
a streamlined body.
Upthrust/Lift/Buoyancy
Just like normal force, but in water.
Ex-a boat sailing, a swimmer
swimming, etc.
Gravity/Gravitational
Force
Gravity is a force that pulls
everything downwards.
Examples-The Earth’s Gravity, The
Moon’s Gravity.
Magnetic Force
Magnets have a force that
attract things.
Examples-Magnets and
paperclips, iron, etc.
