BRIEF
INTRODUCTION
Two centuries ago, the word media was first used to describe
newspapers. Although it has different forms like mass media, print
media and visual media, generally, its purpose is just the same; media
as a channel of communication.
Visual media (Daryanto, 1993:27) means all the props used
in the process of learning that can be enjoyed through the eye senses.
There are three types of visual media; namely, images,
videos and infographics. It is seen oftentimes on televisions,
smartphones, newspapers, magazines, billboards, computers, screen
projectors and other mediums and devices.
It serves different purposes like express an opinion or point of
view, educate through factual content and information, persuade
viewers and listeners to buy a product or think certain ways and
entertain an audience, as in video games or movies.
