philosopher born around 460 BCE
in Abdera died on 370 bc .
He is best known for his
formulation of an atomic theory of
the universe, which posited that
everything is composed of invisible
and indestructible particles called
atoms.

Democritus proposed the theory of
atomism, which posited that everything in
the universe is composed of tiny ,invisible
particles and atoms. They vary in shape,
size, and arrangement, and they form the
diverse world we perceive.
