 For the first assignment you will need a gmail
account to create your Salesforce account
• DO NOT USE any of: Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL. They will cause problems with
messages sent by Salesforce (including those posted on some of your
checkpoints which earn marks)
• Heed the warning in Lab 1a to obtain the correct type of Salesforce account (and
use your name that matches York’s registration system):

Recommended (optional) security feature with the
grading app: truncate your student number and
add 511 at the front
• The grading app requires that you enter your full name (as per York’s
registration system) and your student ID
• Replacing the first three digits of your student ID is a security feature (we only
need the last six digits to match to our records)
• So if your student ID is 222 123 456 you could replace the first three numbers
with 511 and you can enter: 511 123 456

You upload the PDF grading certificate to the
eClass website for us to record your grade

Create the grading certificate after Upload to eClass so that we can record
completing each Lab your grade

Save it as a PDF file once created

times for each lab
• You can run the auto-grader at the
completion of each checkpoint for
the system to check your work
• Then follow the instructions to fix or
contact Max Labs help right away

• The labs are sequential, which
means that they build on each other
• If you do not complete a lab,
unexpected errors will turn up in the
following labs, so the labs must be
completed in order
