HOW TO PRODUCE FULL SCRIPT?

ACTION
• Action is what is done by the character. It consists of two
elements of the Physical and Emotional.
• Select a drama and identify the actions performed by the
characters through physical and emotions. If we have to
know our characters, we usually know what he's/she’s
doing actions.
• These actions will realize dramatic elements in our drama.
Actions play with a feeling such as create a sense of suspense,
sad, spooky, funny, scared, etc. to attract the attention of an
audience.

• To realize this action, the character must play an important role

and interact in three ways:
1) Experiencing conflict in achieving their dramatic desires.
2) Interact with other characters,
3) Interacting with yourself.

• These three elements will move the character action to make

Screenplay in the drama and continue to move forward
DIALOGUE
• DIALOGUE is actually a function of the character. If we
understand our character, dialogue will easily help to
describe our story.
• Function dialogue - to bring our narrative to move forward.
• Indeed, we know that the drama moves on visual story,
but there is no denying that the dialogue also plays an
important role in the storytelling process to ensure the
drama we could attract an audience and move forward in
the best possible
• Every message we want to convey to the audience in fact
not necessary we use dialogue to convey, as well as from
our dialogue can convey the message through action and
non-verbal behavior.
• Actually dialogue can also reflect the dramatic element in
our script. Thus in choosing dialogue we certainly can not
forget the dramatic elements because the dialogue one of
the strength factors in drama. This is also because the
error selection of dialogue can actually cause to be
weakness factors in drama.
• Sometimes in the selection dialogue, we will face
problem which we could not choose the right
words for communicated by the character until we
felt awkward with dialogue that we have done it.

• Do not worry, with this problem because normally

we would certainly feel that way at our initial
writing. Over time we will be familiar with the
matter, and little by little we will be able to improve
our dialogue script.

• It should be noted here, that we make the dialogue

preferably not too long and tedious because it just
gets boring the audience.

6 elements:

1) Scene Heading
2) Action
3) Character
4) Parenthetical
5) Dialogue
6) Transition

1) Scene Heading
This is known as a Scene Heading because it is the beginning of a scene. In
terms of our language is "Scenes Heads”. It is also a separation between
one scene to another scene.
• Examples Scene Heading:

INT. BEDROOM ARYON, BUNGALOW - NIGHT

EXT. FACULTY BUILDING - DAY
I/E. KERETA ARYON/ROAD - MOMENTS LATER

• DESCRIPTION.

INT. EXT. I/E - Inside location (INT.), outside (EXT.) or both

locations – inside location and outside location (I/E.)

• At the center of the Scene Heading after deciding the location - is

LOCATION. For examples, BUNGALOW ARYON, and CAR
ARYON, FACULTY BUILDING, ROAD.
• At the end of Scene Heading is the position of the
indicator time whether day, night, connected, a
moment later, and more.
• Among the commonly used term is DAY, NIGHT,
MORNING, AFTERNOON, EVENING,
CONTINOUS, LATER, MOMENTS LATER & THE
NEXT DAY.
2) Action

After writing a Scene Heading, we started writing our script to include

elements that will explain action and types of shot

Examples:

(LS) Organizing a farewell party to celebrate the retirement of Mr.

Andrew and the situation is noisy.

(Two-Shot) Edwin (45) talk to Andrew about the life after retirement.

(CA) All the staffs come towards Andrew for congratulate him finally
get retire.

(MCU) Edwind stand in the middle of the office to announce that

headquarters decide that will promote one of them in the department
to replace Andrew. And Edwin tell them need to work hard to enhance
their performance so that competent the post
• Description.

• In the Action is what should be noted is the only Action

Characters and surroundings. No need to put the terms of
literature. No need to write sentences that can not be
described or recorded by the camera.

• State action that you describe clearly and concisely.

Create assertion in places that need to be addressed by
placing caps on the word.
3) Character
• Characters- EDWIN and ANDREW. Characters
position in script format is as follows

EDWIN

ANDREW

• Being in the middle to distinguish with other

elements. This will help the script reader to know
that the character in the script
4) Parenthetical
A reference to a behavior or action. Typically used for actions that
do not require a lot of movement or can also be used for the
reactions or feelings.

• The position is after and before the character dialogue.

ARYON
(sad)

• Or after the dialogue.

ARYON
I do not think these things…
(to Mak Siti)
5) Dialogue
Serves as the words spoken by the characters.
Dialogue should not be too long because the
drama moves on visual. Long dialogue will make a
boring situation. Dialogue must always bring
storytelling to move forward.

The position is as follows

ARYON
I did not even think about it....
6) Transition

Transition is an end of an scene. It also serves as a

separator between scene.

Position is on the right page at the bottom of the scene.

Examples are as follows:
